Olivia is currently enrolled in Colorado State University and is due to graduate in 2025. She was born and raised in Las Vegas. Being a local, she did her undergraduate coursework in Biology and Veterinary Science at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Upon graduating, she took a position at Craig Road Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant in 2015 and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician while working there. She ended up moving to Colorado and got a master’s degree in Microbiology in 2019. She stayed to work in the biorepository lab in the oncology department at their teaching hospital.
She said, “I always wanted to be a vet since I was a child but my experience as a LVT solidified my decision.” Olivia always had an affinity for animals and grew up with dogs, cats, chickens and other animals. Currently she has two cats named Jack o’ lantern and Mr. Bones.
She learned about the externship program at Craig Road while working there and worked directly with a number of externs rotating through.
“I really enjoy the variety of cases that walk through the door there and know that it offers a great learning experience.” She says. “I am super excited about the new renovations with the feline facilities and the advanced imaging offered – you just don’t see that at non-specialty hospitals.”
In her spare time, she likes to do Pilates, visit breweries, paint, knit or simply spend time with her loved ones.
