Originally from the Westbank of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ke’Vonn grew up in a household full of cats and developed a love for animals at an incredibly young age. She credits her parents’ many pets with sparking her fascination with veterinary medicine, and today she shares her home with three cats named Sasha, Nino, and Evie. She also affectionately considers many of her family and friends’ pets to be her “honorary” animals.

Ke’Vonn knew she wanted to become a veterinarian when she was just three years old. She always looked forward to visits to the veterinary clinic and has remained passionate about the profession ever since. Her motivation is rooted in giving back to her community by combining her love of science, public health, and veterinary medicine to improve the lives of both animals and the people who care for them.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University before continuing her veterinary education at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Ke’Vonn is currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and anticipates graduating in 2027.

Although she visited Las Vegas once as a child for a family wedding, this externship offers Ke’Vonn her first opportunity to experience the city through the lens of veterinary medicine. She was drawn to the program after hearing outstanding feedback from previous students and meeting V.O.S. representatives at the LSU career fair, and she is excited for a new environment and learning experience.

During this externship, Ke’Vonn is focused on strengthening her clinical confidence by improving bloodwork interpretation, becoming more comfortable in surgery, and developing stronger client communication skills, particularly when discussing treatment estimates. She has a particular interest in general practice, shelter medicine, and public health and hopes to continue exploring where her career will take her while making a positive impact in both clinical practice and animal welfare.

Outside of the hospital, Ke’Vonn enjoys catching up on television shows, exercising, shopping, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and prioritizing self-care and rest.
