Mandi, originally from Las Vegas, has always had a deep love for animals. From a young age, she was captivated by the medical field and its potential to make a significant impact on lives. Her ultimate goal has always been to find a career that allows her to positively influence the environment, people, and animals.
Growing up surrounded by dogs and fish, Mandi’s passion for helping animals was further ignited during her frequent trips to Mexico. Having seen the suffering of stray and sick animals, she had a strong desire to make a positive impact. It was during these experiences that she first learned about vital practices such as spaying/neutering and the inspiring work of organizations like Veterinarians Without Borders.
Mandi’s family’s longstanding relationship with Sun City Animal Hospital, where Dr. Knehr played a pivotal role in extending her dog’s life by nine years, further solidified her determination. Sharing her interest in the veterinary field with Dr. Knehr, she was met with unwavering support and guidance, as he outlined a clear path for her to achieve her goals.
She is current pursuing her education at the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine and is set to graduate in 2027.
During her free time, Mandi stays active with regular workouts and cherishes quality moments spent with her dogs, Mimi, a chihuahua and Ginger, a poodle mix. She loves listening to true crime and veterinary podcasts, and takes every opportunity to be in the presence of animals, as they bring her immense joy.
