Mia, originally from Chicago, moved to Houston, TX a few years after she was born, and later on in life, she relocated to Las Vegas. Her love for animals was first nurtured by her mom, who often took her to their dog’s vet appointments, creating cherished memories. Sadly, after her mother’s passing, spending time with animals became Mia’s way of keeping her memory alive.
Throughout high school, Mia’s passion for veterinary medicine was solidified through volunteering at various animal shelters and rescues. One standout experience was at Lone Wolf Animal Rescue, where she spent her Saturdays helping dogs find their forever homes.
Mia attended West Texas University for her undergraduate studies and graduated in 2022. She is currently studying at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and is expected to graduate in 2027.
In her free time, Mia enjoys playing with her one-year-old Chihuahua, Newt, hanging out with friends from vet school, and listening to true crime podcasts.
Her family’s support is her biggest motivation, especially as she is the first in her family to pursue a doctorate. While the honor comes with pressure, her family’s encouragement reminds her that there is nothing she can’t achieve.
