The student representative supports Craig Road Animal Hospital’s externship and recruitment programs through onsite awareness and logistical support at their school. Duties also networking with other students, identifying onsite opportunities, and researching ways that Craig Road Animal Hospital can be a partner rather than just a potential employer. It is envisioned that the student representative would work on average 1-2 hours per week on Craig Road Animal Hospital business.
- Maintain academic excellence and focus on school.
- The student must abide by the rules and conflict of interest policies for their school.
- Networking with other students to identify externship needs and whether Craig Road can help.
- Identifying any possible recruitment opportunities should they present themselves.
- Connect, or join, the local VBMA chapter or equivalent.
- Provide information on job fairs, industry presentation opportunities, and other cooperative events.
- Provide feedback, good or bad, on how CRAH externships and / or presentations are received by students and faculty.
- Keep CRAH’s information updated in onsite contact lists for externships and recruitment.
- Distribute materials, both printed and digital, within the school’s guidelines.
- Suggest future avenues for the CRAH to explore with a view to the externship program and recruitment.
